Un frammento del canto del suonatore che, nel gelo, chiude sconsolato il Winterreise di Franz Schubert.
Ora viene dilatato, nascosto, subito lasciato quando tenta di emergere, investito da interventi rabbiosi, frantumato in vaniloqui aggressivi e paralizzanti.
Emerge infine, esile ma più disteso, un intervento lontano del pianoforte, quindi finalmente gli archi tentano di disegnare un panorama più accogliente, più rassicurante.
Per poco, comunque: il quadro finale ci lascia su un interrogativo nuovamente sospeso nella sua invernale fissità.

Now it is dilated, hidden, immediately lost when it tries to emerge, injected with violent interventions, shattered in aggressive and paralyzing rants.
Thin but quieter, a distant piano finally emerges, after which the strings try to build a warmer, more reassuring landscape.
All for naught, however: the final picture leaves us lost, suspended on an unanswered question in the stillness of winter.
